Apache County Food Handlers Requirements
Apache County requires at least one Person in Charge (PIC) at the food established at all times. In addition, the Person in Charge must have a valid food handler’s card in AZ or received formal food safety training such as Food Manager Certification. PIC is also responsible for ensuring all employees properly follow food safety practices. This includes educating the staff on how their role in the kitchen can trigger foodborne illness. PIC must also ensure only authorized personnel enter and work in the kitchen to minimize the risk of an outbreak.
