Gila County Food Handler Requirements
As of 2004, Gila county requires food service workers and managers to receive training. This means any worker at food establishments who involves preparation of food and/or drink must be certified. In order to obtain a food handler’s card, individuals must attend complete a training course and pass an exam through State Food Safety. All employees must obtain their food handlers certificate within 30 days of hire. Please note the county stopped providing physical tests for the food handler’s card in 2014. The certification is exclusively online. You can find links to the approved courses and exams here at the Gila County Official Website.
In addition, Gila county requires food establishments to have at least one certified Food Service Manager during the business operation hours. If you’d like to find out more about what questions to expect on Food Handler and Food Service Manager exams, please visit our study guide page!
